When we talk about watch and jewelry exhibition, Basel International Watch and Jewelry Show could always come to our mind first and I like the exhibit best. Basel International Watch and Jewelry Show is one of the largest exhibitions in the world and it could be traced back to the MUBA held in 1917. Nowadays, the exhibition with acreage of 160,000 square meters, has become a large and grand assembly for watches and jewelry. More than 2000 exhibitors, 100,000 odd professional buyers and 2500 international news media participate in the show every year. According to the sponsor’s presentation in 2010, about 3000 professional buyers from the mainland of China come to the exhibition so we can see that Chinese watch and jewelry industries pay much attention to the show.

6 exhibition halls are set up for the show and jewelry is displayed in Hall 2, Hall 3 and Hall 6 where exhibitors with abundant capital and long history of exhibition show luxurious jewelry. Most exhibitors located in the international hall are organized by trade organizations or trade associations in their countries and each country has a separate area. In this year, China, India, Thailand, Turkey, Brasil and some countries from Europe are organized by trade organizations and associations and the two largest exhibitors among them are from Hong Kong and Thailand. Sponsors for the show in different years are well-known and have great economic strength.

People could find various watches of famous brands on the exhibition but the quantity of large-scale exhibitors for jewelry is very small. Therefore, watches could manifest the elegant demeanor freely. Actually, high-end exhibitors are considered as the guarantee for the success of the exhibition and many exhibitors say that the Basel Show is the only exhibit they want to participate in. Conversely, they can get more benefit from the show by the report of various international media.
